Ever since I was a kid I wanted a few things, (certainly a TARDIS but somehow even as a kid I knew a police box might be a tad hard to get) in no particular order: The Tom Baker Sonic Screwdriver, TARDIS key and scarf (Season 12 as that is my favorite. Although, one day I would love a Season 18 as well). They would all prove very hard to get a good replica of for quite a while.
Over the years I had found a a close enough "official" scarf, which to be honest was completely inaccurate and always bugged my fan mind. But I kept it as it was all I had. Later, when I first entered the prop world, I finally got my hands on a great fan made replica of the Sonic Screwdriver, which has now been upgraded three times at least to the one you see pictured above.
The same had happened with the TARDIS key. I picked up two different official replicas, both of them inaccurate, but they were all I had. Then a few years later I was able to replace these keys with a fantastic and completely screen accurate fan made replica that you can also see pictured above as well as in my Props gallery.
But this, this is special. Not only have I finally gotten the scarf of my fan dreams but it was knitted by a wonderful friend of mine. What makes it more special is that I didn't ask her to do this. She had made one for her husband and wanted to make another so she just decided one day that she would make me one as well. She did all the research and really make this thing the best it can be. Recently I received the final product and it has made me a very happy Doctor Who fan! She has become my very own Madam Nostradamus
There is only one thing that we talked about enhancing. She wasn't sure how many tassels I would like on the scarf so she put less than is accurate but she was kind enough to offer to help me add the proper amount to make it accurate - 12 per side to match the most used Season 12 version. I felt 14 might be a tad too much. Those will be added soon.
Ahhh so jelly. I'm working on tryin to get nine and tens sonic screwdriver. It's pathetic because it's so cheap and I'm having such a hard time getting ittttttt (because I don't have a credit or debit card but I can easily get the money to order it. like wtf) I put the scarf on my wishlist on thinkgeek because that's good enough for me tbh. but omgggg. So cool that you got those!!!
I think so, yes! I plan to save up some money to get it. I NEED it. lol
Ahh. I'm going to have to beg someone to take me to the mall or something soon so I can go see if there is an FYE in one of them... I mean, every other store I looked at online it was like $20+ when the one on thinkgeek is only 19.99
I have enough money on a visa gift card, I'm just...1.13 cents short (comes to like $26.13 with shipping). And it irks me so bad!!
I KNOW. I'm thinking of just buying other things like buttons or prints with my card instead because I can always just get the screwdriver another time. And honestly the longer I don't look at it the more I'm okay with not having it until I can actually get the money. Haha But yes. It is so annoyingggg.
I know, I thought the same. But they still have A LOT of ten stuff. tbh I'm not a huge fan of 5-7. It's okay and I still watch it but I'm all for RTD.
Anyway. But yeah, in fact, smith stuff is actually not as popular or always out of stock. Which is good for me, since it keeps nine and ten stuff in stock. If you know what I mean. xD
Doctor Who has always been like that. One era is better than another depending on the individual viewer. I agree with you in that I miss RTD but I do still like Smith and his era, just sadly, not as much.

Do you have an FYE near you? They carry Doctor Who stuff and when I was there last week they had the 10 sonic. No credit card needed
